2 Vehicles Stolen From Honda Cars Of Bradenton

Two people in stolen vehicles fled from Manatee County deputies early Tuesday following a theft at Honda Cars of Bradenton.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for two people deputies say broke into Honda Cars of Bradenton early Tuesday morning and then drove off in two stolen vehicles.

According to the agency, deputies received notice of an alarm having been tripped at the 5515 14th St. W. business at 5:52 a.m. Dec. 20. A deputy happened to be in the area when the call went out and headed to the location. As the deputy pulled into the parking lot, however, “two vehicles fled the scene at a high rate of speed southbound on 14th Street,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies say one vehicle appeared to be a maroon sedan. The other was a black or dark-colored, small-size SUV. The deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicles, but the drivers managed to get away.

At that point, the deputy returned to Honda Cars of Bradenton and found two glass doors shattered. “The building was cleared and it appeared that several offices were in disarray,” the email said.

As deputies worked the crime scene, a call came in about an unoccupied suspicious vehicle spotted in front of Tommy Knockers, 5614 14th St. W. It didn’t take long for deputies to confirm it was one of the vehicles that fled the scene: a red Chevrolet Sonic. That vehicle, as it turned out, was owned by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 4711 14th St. W. The Sonic had been at the Honda dealership for detailing, the sheriff’s office said.

Descriptions of the suspects are not available. The sheriff’s office says the driver of the Sonic appeared to be a man.

Anyone with information about the crime or suspects is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
