28-Year-Old Man Sought In Manatee County Slaying

PALMETTO, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a 28-year-old man who is suspected in the slaying of Jesus Molina on Saturday. Irving Zuniga was named a suspect in the case by the sheriff's office.

He is being sought in connection with the death of the 18-year-old Molina, who was gunned down and then dumped in the 1200 block of 61st Street East.

The sheriff's office said Molina's body was discovered by a passerby around 7:17 a.m. on Saturday. The agency did not say how they tied Zuniga to the murder.

"Detectives have a warrant for the arrest of Irving Zuniga ... charging him with the murder of 18-year old Jesus Molina," the sheriff's office said.on Sunday.

The sheriff's office said the suspected motive and other details of the case were being withheld at this time. Molina was found in the grass along 61st Street E.

"Responding units determined the victim suffered trauma consistent with homicidal violence," the sheriff's office said.
