48-Hour Boil Water Issued In Bradenton: Officials
The Bradenton water treatment plant lost power over the weekend, causing citywide low water pressure, officials said.
BRADENTON, FL — A 48-hour precautionary boil water advisory is in place after a power outage at the Bradenton water treatment plant Sunday morning, city officials said in a news release.
The advisory went out Sunday at 10 a.m. and is in effect until Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The outage, caused by overnight storms, caused widespread low water pressure throughout the city.

Public Works staff activated backup generators and pressure was restored around 8:30 a.m.. Florida Power & Light restored power to the plant by 2 p.m.
Though the city’s potable water is safe to drink, the boil water notice is precautionary because of contamination concerns, officials said.

Residents should boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient. Alternatively, bottled water may be used.
Some areas of the city, which use Manatee County water but are billed by the city, didn’t experience the pressure interruption and aren’t affected by the boil water notice. These areas include:- Perico Bay
- Manatee Memorial
- Palma Sola
- Harbor Isle
- Harbor Isle Marina
