5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 10

City Council to select contractor for McKechnie Field work,

1. The Selection Committee will meet at 9 a.m. today in the City Council conference room, second floor of City Hall, 101 Old Main St., for the purpose of short listing recommendations for a construction manager for the McKechnie Field renovations.

2. The city has scheduled the closure of Second Street West between 11th and 12th Avenues  for 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for the replacement of a water line.

3. The County Commission meets today and will discuss the floodplain in Manatee County, plans to develop trails in the Neal Preserve using a Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant.

4. The City Council will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the City Council Chambers.
