City Council meets, Farmer's Market today and

1.The Bradenton City Council meets at 8:30 a.m. today in council chambers at Bradenton City Hall.

2. Need some fresh veggies? The Farmer's Market at is open today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is located near the Neel Performing Arts Center located off of 26th Street and 60th Avenue West. The farmers market, which features artisan breads, fruits, vegetables, natural care products, and snacks from around the world, is designed to promote a healthy lifestyle among students, employees and the public.

3. Don't miss the Courthouse Square Concert today at 11:30 a.m. featuring a live outdoor concert by The Open Door Band, a band that benefits the homeless. All of the members of the band are homeless or were homeless at some point. These professional musicians play to give back to the communities who have helped them. 4. Patch has launched a food drive with Feeding America in Tampa Bay. The food drive is designed to help feed children throughout the summer. Drop off your food donations at local businesses around Bradenton, including , , ,  and . A big thank you goes out to the Key Club for collecting food donations at the high school.

5. New York Yankees first baseman  has been named the Commissioner of Patch Baseball. The two-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove Award winner will interact with Patch users this baseball season by regularly responding to your questions, sharing baseball tips, and posting exclusive videos.
