1. will host its 14th annual Concert in the Garage to benefit the music programs at Manatee High School. The concert, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, will feature the schools' orchestras and food for the crowd. A car ahow will also be open to the public during the concert. The centerpiece of the show will be a 1965 Mini Cooper once owned by Paul McCartney. The concert will also include a little Beatle's music just for fun.

2. The 28th annual Greek Glendi opens today at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church. Don't miss the fabulous food, music and dancing. There is also a play area for children and church tours for those interested in art and architecture.

3. The Manatee County Schools Superintendent will host a on Friday to discuss school grades, the budget and to present awards. The Manatee CEO Roundtable meets at 8 a.m. in Room 203 of the Manatee County School District’s School Support Center.  The Roundtable meets quarterly and is chaired by Manatee School District Superintendent.

Get your tickets now for Manatee Religious Service's annual celebration banquet set for March 8 at 6:30 PM, at the Riverhouse Banquet Hall in Palmetto.  Sheriff Brad Steube will speak on "hurting in Manatee County."  Tickets are $50 a person for the dinner, which includes menu options of prime rib, fish or a vegetarian dinner. 5. Mixon Fruit Farms will hist its annual Valentine Chocolate Eating Contest beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Contestants have to be fast: unwrap and eat the most candy Kisses and you could win a gift basket loaded for romance. It includes a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, a box of fudge, sweet nuts, kettle korn and Murcott tangerines.
