87-Year-Old Bradenton Man Missing

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is searching for 87-year-old Charles Hearn who was last seen Saturday morning after he was seen leaving a motel in Lake Wales around 9:30 a.m.

His car is described as a 2003, 4-door silver Cadillac, with Florida tag E107DC.

According to deputies, on Friday Hearn picked up his Cadillac from Tropical Cadillac in Bradenton around 3:30 p.m.

Around 10 p.m., deputies said Hearn called his wife to tell her he was in a crash near a firehouse, but was OK.

His wife waited up for him but he didn’t return home and had no idea where he was when he called, according to a news release. 

Hearn was reported missing Saturday.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said Hearn's crash was in Osceola County but the incident was not a crash, his car just slid off the road. 

Hearn, deputies said, was not injured and was directed to a motel in Lake Wales to spend the night. 

An Osceola County Deputy spoke with Hearn but at that time had no reason to detain him, deputies said.  

According to authorities, Hearn checked out of the motel at 9:30 Saturday morning and was last seen driving north on US 27 when he should have been headed south. 

Hearn has not been seen since.
