Adoptable Dog of the Week: Alexa Is a Smart Girl

This week's adoptable pet is Alexa, a happy and playful Hound/Pit Bull mix.

Alexa, a two-year-old spayed female, knows how to sit and listen to commands. She's smart and knows how to work a gate. She is playful and loves attention. Alexa has been with Manatee County Animal Services since Feb. 13, when she was picked up as a stray in Palmetto. You can visit Alexa at the county's downtown adoption center today or next week. The expanded downtown adoption center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

This is a great month to adopt Alexa. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a $50 adoption fee for dogs through April. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, microchip and current rabies certificate/tag. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
