Adoptable Dog of the Week: Congo is Ready to Play Ball

He's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.

This week's adoptable pet is Congo, a labrador mix who Loves nothing better than to chase the ball.

Congo, a five year old neutered male, can catch the ball mid air. He brings the ball back whether you roll it or throw it. He loves people. Congo has been with Manatee County Animal Services since August, when he was picked up as a stray. You can visit Congo at the county's downtown adoption center today or next week. The expanded downtown adoption center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

This is a great month to adopt Congo. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a $50 adoption fee for dogs through April. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, microchip and current rabies certificate/tag. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.  Come Thursday during a Patch adopt-a-thon even and get an extra Patch adoption discount.
