Adoptable Dog of the Week: Spot is a Real Prince

He's just one of the pets up for adoption at the county's downtown center.

This week's adoptable dog is Spot, a black and white mixed breed with a spot on the crown of his head. Could he be royalty?

Spot, a six month old neutered male, loves to play with balls and stuffed toys. He will sit for a treat and is ready to learn. Spot is definitely a puppy and will need a family who is willing to take time and work with him. Spot has been with Manatee County Animal Services since April 8, when he wasfound wandering in Palmetto. You can visit Spot at the county's downtown adoption center today or next week. The downtown adoption center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

This is a great month to adopt Spot. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a $60 adoption fee for dogs through June. Animal Services is having a great month. The county agency adopted out 28 pets on June 11 in honor of no kill day. In addition to regular specials Animal Services is offering a few dogs free to good homes. Check out Maggie: She is a well-trained boxer mix who is free to a great home. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, microchip and current rabies certificate/tag. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
