Adoptable Dog of the Week: Tessa is Ready to Sit and Shake on Her Adoption

This week's adoptable pet is Tess, a gorgeous white Labrador Retreiver/German Shepherd mix.

Tessa, a one-and-a-half year old spayed female, can sit and shake. In fact, if you tell her to sit, she automatically offers her paw. She's a happy dog who loves attention and to be near people. She is all white, except for her ears, which have small brown spots. She has been with Manatee County Animal Services since Jan. 24, when she was found as a stray. You can visit Tessa at the county's downtown adoption center next week or at the Palmetto adoption center for Animal Services. The downtown center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Palmetto location is open weekdays and also on Saturdays.

February is a great month to adopt. Manatee County Animal Services is offering a half-price special on all cats and dogs through February. Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, health check, microchip and current rabies certificate/tag. This adoption special is another step in the County’s plan to become a no-kill community.
