Farmers' Market Open Invitation

The Manatee County Health Department (MCHD) through the ACHIEVE (Action Communities for Health, Innovation and EnVironmental changE) Coalition, is pleased to announce the first of several Farmers' Markets, open to the public.

The market will open outside the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) building of the MCHD, on Wednesday of each week, beginning February 8th, from 11:30 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m.

The market will focus on produce from Manatee County growers and will eventually expand to other locations in the Bradenton and Palmetto areas.

Featured produce will include a wide selection of fresh vegetables and seasonal fruit. The goal of ACHIEVE is to make the healthy choice the easy choice in Manatee
County.

"Proper nutrition, physical activity and tobacco prevention are keys to becoming a healthier community. The Farmers' Market makes healthy foods convenient, easily accessible and as inexpensive as possible." said Dr. Jennifer Bencie, Administrator of the Manatee County Health Department.
