Annual Duck Race Sets The Pace for Weekend
Top prize for the duck race is held in conjunction with the weekend's DeSoto Fishing tournament is $5,000 for groceries for the year.

Saturday will offer you a chance to find out. The Lucky Ducky Race for PACE, in partnership with the DeSoto Fishing Tournament, will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at Tarpon Pointe Grill and Tiki Bar.
Everyone is invited to watch the excitement as the ducks are dropped in the water at 7 p.m. and race to the finish line. The top prize for the person who buys the winning duck — the is the first rubber duck to cross the finish line — is a $5,000 gift card to Publix.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and is open to the public. There are activities for children with games and face painting.

Ducks can be adopted for $5 on the website, and at the following locations: Anna Maria Oyster Bar restaurants, Clear Sunset Car Wash, Demetrios’ Pizza House, Duffy’s in Holmes Beach, Evie’s in Ellenton and University Parkway, Norma Rae’s in Palmetto and Tarpon Pointe Grill in Bradenton.

PACE Manatee is one of 17 centers across the state whose mission is to provide girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy.
