Bag of Stolen Cash on Front Seat Helps Deputies Identify Robbery Suspect

A Bradenton man arrested on bank robbery charges shortly after leaving the Bank of America parking lot.

UPDATE: Emanuel Paredes (driver of car) was taken into custody and interviewed regarding the robbery. He was later released and will not be charged at this time. The investigation continues.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office made a quick arrest after a noon bank robbery today, thanks to a well-trained teller and a robbery suspect who left their bank bag on the front seat of the get-away car, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report.

The robbery took place at the , 4545 W 14th St., after Mackenson S. Lecompte, 22, handed the teller a bank bag and ordered her to fill it with money. As she filled the bag, she also hit the robbery alarm. 

Lecompte took the bag full of money bag and ran out of the bank and jumped in car being driven by Emanuel L. Paredes, 23. Paredes and Lecompte left the bank, driving onto US 41.

They were immediately stopped by several cars from the sheriff's department and arrested. The bank bag was still visible on the front seat of the get-away car. 

Paredes, who was driving the car, was taken into custody and interviewed regarding the robbery. He was later released and will not be charged at this time, according to the sheriff's department. The investigation continues.
