Bicyclist From Bradenton Killed In Hit-And-Run Collision
The Florida Highway Patrol said it is actively looking for the driver who left the scene after fatally striking the bicyclist.
BRADENTON, FL — A bicyclist from Bradenton has died following a collision with a vehicle that left the scene Saturday just before midnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the vehicle and bicyclist were traveling east on Mendoza Road, east of Ridgewood Boulevard in Manatee County.
As the two continued to travel east, troopers said the right portion of the vehicle struck the bicyclist, knocking her off the roadway and into a ditch.

Authorities said the vehicle fled the scene.
Troopers said the bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but she later died.

The Florida Highway Patrol is requesting anyone with information concerning the crash to contact Crime Stoppers or *FHP (*347) on a cellular phone.
According to WWSB-TV, the victim has been identified as Tina Luong. Troopers said she was not wearing a helmet.
