Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle on US 41

The Bradenton man was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from his bike.

A 44-year-old Bradenton man was critically injured Wednesday morning, when he rode his bike into the direct path of a Ford F-150, at the intersection of US 41 and State Road 684, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mark Andrew Saba, 44, was not wearing a safety helmet and was thrown from his bike, when it was hit by the left front end of the Ford, which was driven by 42-year-old Johnny L. Anderson, also of Bradenton.

The 2004 Ford F-150 was traveling north in the left lane of US 41 and approaching the intersection of State Road 684 at about 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 15.

Saba, riding his bicycle, failed to see the Ford and rode into its path. Saba was ejected from his seat and into the intersection. He was taken to Blake Hospital, with critical injuries.
