Father and Son Team Arrested on Bank Robbery Charges
The pair are accused of robbing two Manatee County banks in May.
After leading law enforcement on a high speed chase in Sarasota, a father and son have been charged with two Manatee County bank robberies using a syringe.
Brent Leroy Henson, 51, of Sarasota and his son Brandon Lee Henson, 18, also of Sarasota, have been charged with two counts of armed robbery.
Bradenton Police Detective Greg Price who is assigned to the F.B.I.’s Violent Crimes Task Force received a tip over the weekend about the two Sarasota men involved in the two Manatee County bank robberies. The robber was armed with a syringe when he held up the Chase Bank in Bradenton on May 18 and the Iberia Bank in Manatee County on May 25.

Price discovered the suspects near University Parkway Friday afternoon and evening. At about 7:30 p.m. Bradenton Police, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement pulled the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Tuttle Avenue and Bahia Vista Street in Sarasota. The suspects drove away and led law enforcement officers on a vehicle pursuit that ended at the intersection of University Parkway and U.S. 41 when the suspect vehicle crashed into a concrete sign at the Ringling Museum.
