Bradenton Boy Shot, Killed

Bradenton Police are investigating what is believed to be an accidental shooting involving two young siblings.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton boy shot by his sibling Thursday afternoon has died from his injuries.

According to the Bradenton Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 300 block of 12th Avenue West shortly after 1 p.m. June 22. When they arrived, they found a boy suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police officers began lifesaving efforts, an email from the agency said. The boy was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital, but died shortly after 2 p.m., police said.

The shooting remains under investigation, but police say it appears to be accidental. The victim and shooter are siblings, the agency noted, and both are juveniles.
