Bradenton Man, 44, Killed In Hit-And-Run

The Florida Highway Patrol needs help identifying a motorist involved in a Thursday night hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead.

BRADENTON, FL — As the Florida Highway Patrol investigates a Thursday night crash that left a 44-year-old Bradenton pedestrian, troopers are asking for help identifying the motorist involved.

According to the patrol, the vehicle was heading north on U.S. 41, north of 69th Avenue West, around 10:14 p.m. Sept. 14. At that time, Daniel Marez was crossing the road and walked into the vehicle’s path, a highway patrol report said. Marez was struck, but the driver kept going, troopers say. Marez was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, but died from his injuries.

Troopers are asking anyone with information about the crash or the motorist involved to contact them. The vehicle involved is believed to be a metallic gold Ford that is missing a right head lamp. Anyone with information is asked to contact the patrol at 239-938-1800.
