Bradenton Man Drove Truck Into Girlfriend's Car, Deputies Say

The man allegedly struck the car with his tractor trailer at a low speed in an attempt to keep her from leaving after an argument.

A Bradenton man is charged with domestic aggravated assault with a motor vehicle after authorities say he used his tractor trailer to strike the front of his girlfriend's car in an attempt to keep her from leaving after an argument.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, Rafael Hernandez, 38, had his girlfriend meet him in a parking lot in the 6400 block of State Road 64 early Wednesday where his tractor trailer was parked.

The two were inside the cab of his truck when they got into an argument, according to a sheriff's report. The woman exited the cab and got into her car to leave. That's when deputies allege Hernandez struck the front of the car at low speed (1-2 mph) with his truck "in what is believed to be an attempt to keep her from leaving."
