Bradenton's 5 Things to Know This Weekend: June 16-18
It's a busy weekend, whether you're a dog lover, a wine aficionado or an aspiring college student there's something out there for you.

1. Dog lovers won't want to miss the St. Petersburg Dog Fanciers all-breed dog show at the , One Haben Blvd., Palmetto. About 1,000 dogs are entered to show on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday there will be a Best Puppy in Show competition and a new exhibitor briefing. Vendors will sell dog related items throughout the weekend.
2. Adam Tebrugge will kick off his Bradenton campaign for the Florida House race please at Unity Church in the Woods 4200 32nd St. W., today at 1:30.
3. A little red wine could benefit the American Red Cross of Southwest Florida today. , 4250 County Road 675 E., is hosting a harvest festival today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities during the free festival include harvesting grapes and a grape stomp. Food and gift vendors will be on hand. A potion of the sales benefit the Red Cross.

4.The school board will meet Monday night at 5:45 p.m. to discuss the school budget for the coming year. The budget will not contain any cuts, according to preliminary numbers.
5. Take Stock in Children will be offer a Free College Counseling Seminar today from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the , 1401 21st Ave W. Today's free seminar is about getting into college and paying for it. Today's seminar is the first in a series of three all of which offer handouts, breakout session and refreshments. The next two seminars are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The focus of those seminars will be performing well on college admissions tests and writing your best college essay.
