Chamber of Commerce networking event this morning, Habitat store offers sale to mark anniversary and high water has closed Upper Manatee River Road west of Rye Road.

1. 8330 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., will host the Chamber of Commerce Coffee Club this morning from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. Bring plenty of business cards to this networking event. Continental breakfast included. For more information call 941-748-3411.
2. The county has closed Upper Manatee River Road west of Rye Road because water from the river is rushing over the road. The road will remain closed until it is safe to travel.
3. As the state continues to deal with the effects of , Gov. Rick Scott on Monday declared a Level 1 state of emergency, the lowest, which activates storm operations in all 67 counties.

4. The Manatee County Restore, 4105 Cortez Road West, will mark its one year anniversary on Saturday with a huge sale from 9am-5pm. Shoppers will receive discounts on purchases, free gifts, food and drinks. The ReStore offers furniture, art work, lighting, housewares, linens, books and clothing. Proceeds from store provide support for the local Manatee Habitat affiliate and helps build Habitat homes for qualified families.
5. The IMG Madden 7-on-7 Football National Championships and Cam Newton Skills Challenge begin Friday, June 29. The unique event featuring a wide diversity of teams from all around the country, including right here in Manatee County, is open to the public and admission is free.
