BRADENTON, FL — Bradenton area barbecue fans will soon have a new place to satisfy their cravings. Mission BBQ has announced an opening date of March 13.

The new eatery at 4501 14th St. W. will celebrate with a ribbon cutting at noon. After that, the eatery will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. The Bradenton location is a first for the city.

Mission BBQ was founded in Glen Burnie, Maryland, in September 2011 by a pair of best friends “with a love of country and a love of BBQ,” a media release said. The chain now has 44 locations in 11 states, including eateries in Brandon, Fort Myers and Temple Terrace.

Mission BBQ also has a mission of giving back.

“Our Mission is to serve those who serve, members of our military, police, fire and first responders,” the release said. “Our American heroes.”

To serve its charitable mission, the restaurant supports such organizations on the national level as the Navy Seal Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, Special Operations Warrior Foundation and USO, among others. It also supports local charities in towns across the states it serves.
