Bradenton Woman Killed After Getting Out Of Truck

A 24-year-old Bradenton woman was killed in a Friday morning accident on State Road 64.

BRADENTON, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Friday morning single-vehicle accident that left a 24-year-old Bradenton woman dead.

According to the agency, James R. Fetters III, 28, of Bradenton was driving a Ford F150 eastbound on State Road 64 around 12:22 a.m. March 3. As Fetters approached Sevens Shore Boulevard, troopers say his passenger, Sophie Isherwood, got out of the vehicle.

Troopers say Isherwood fell into the roadway as Fetters’ truck was in motion. The truck’s rear tire ran over Isherwood’s body, a highway patrol report said.

Isherwood was taken to a local hospital, but died later due to her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
