SARASOTA, FL — A car drove through the outdoor tiki bar at a Manatee County hotel, injuring two people, Monday afternoon, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 63-year-old Lauderdale Lakes man lost control of his car as he was heading north in the parking lot of the nearby RaceTrac gas station at 7259 U.S. 41 around 3:30 p.m.

He first hit a fence and then continued north, crashing into the outside bar of Lantern Inn & Suites in Sarasota, where he hit two people, FHP said.
