Del Couch Music Foundation Holds its Fundraiser
The music foundation held its second annual fundraiser at the Bradenton City Center Friday night
The Del Couch Music Education Foundation, a nonprofit designed to provide the area's youth opportunities to learn, create and record music, hosted a fundraiser Friday night.
The event featured famous musicians as well as local artists. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Marty Balin, Grammy Award winning guitarist, singer-song writer and producer, Rick Derringer, and Country super star and founder of Alabama, Jeff Cook, all performed at the event. All of these stars are mentors for the music foundation.
Jacob Castro, who performed with Jeff Cook at the Manatee County Fair, was the special guest performer for the evening. The Couch Foundation Musicians, including Trevor Bystrom, Colton Cason, Cordova, Michael Galvano, The Northwest, Matt Walden, Nicole Wishon and Mark Wright also provided entertainment. Del Couch's youngest daughter, Delany sang for the first time every in front of a live audience.

The foundation provides internships through local high schools to give "hands on" experience in the music business. The Mark Wright 2012 Endowment will provide scholarships to local selected outstanding students this fall and will provide instruments to students who may not have the resources to obtain one.
