Elderly FL Couple Dead In Murder-Suicide, Sheriff Says

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A murder-suicide is under investigation in the 7200 block of Treymore Court, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies were told about “two elderly individuals lying unresponsive in the front yard of a home” on Wednesday around 10:30 a.m., the agency said.

When they arrived, they found the bodies of a man and a woman, Anthony Evans, 89, and his wife, Lois Evans, 88, the sheriff’s office said.

Each was killed by a single gunshot wound, deputies said. A small handgun was found next to Anthony’s body.

Investigators found a note that indicated that the shooting was premeditated

An out-of-town family member was notified of their deaths. The investigation is ongoing.
