Skyway Bridge Open To Traffic
The Skyway Bridge has reopened to traffic after high winds forced a Wednesday closing.
BRADENTON, FL — Update May 24, 6 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol has announced that the Skyway Bridge is once again open to traffic in both directions. The bridge was closed for several hours Wednesday when high winds made conditions unsafe for vehicles.
Earlier: The Florida Highway Patrol has announced that high winds have forced the closing of the Skyway Bridge in both directions.
How long the closing might last remains unclear. A cold front moving through the Tampa Bay area is expected to bring strong-to-severe storms into the region throughout the night.
