Hobby Lobby Grand Opening in Bradenton Set For Monday, May 27
The popular craft and hobby store will host a grand opening for its new Bradenton location.
Hobby Lobby, a popular craft store coming to the Pinebrook Square at Cortez Road West and 43rd Street West in Bradenton, will hold a grand opening Monday, May 27, the company said.
The 51,000-square-foot craft and hobby store at 4490 Cortez Rd. W. is one of more than 500 Hobby Lobby locations in the country.
A new Sarasota Hobby Lobby will open May 20 at the site of a former Kmart at 8191 S. Tamiami Trail.

The stores carry everything from furniture and vases to clocks, birdhouses and arts and crafts supplies.
The Oklahoma City-based company is also known for its religious views as much as its crafts, with the family owning the world's largest collection of Biblical antiquities and operates Hobby Lobby "in a manner consistent with Biblical principles," according to a press release.

The store will add 35 to 50 jobs to Bradenton, and will pay $13 per hour for full time employees and $9 per hour for part-time employees, according to company officials.
Local leaders will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday, the company said. The public is invited to attend.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
