Man, 55, Killed In Possible Burglary
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found after a reported burglary.

BRADENTON, FL —A 55-year-old man is dead following a reported Saturday morning burglary at his home in east Manatee County.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call around 1 a.m. July 8 about a burglary in progress in the 1600 block of Zipperer Road. When they arrived, they found Melissa Mae Hutchinson, 46, inside the home.

Hutchinson told deputies that two men entered her home and attacked her while she was downstairs. Her husband, Dwayne Hutchinson, was upstairs when the break-in occurred.
Deputies began to search for Dwayne and found him dead in an upstairs bedroom, an email from the sheriff’s office said. The cause of death is not being released, but authorities say there was “trauma to his body consistent with a homicide.”

Melissa Hutchinson was taken to a local hospital after the discovery, the email said. She has since been released.
“This incident does not appear to be a random act of violence,” the sheriff’s office said.
No further information is being released at this time.
