Manatee Ave. Gold and Pawn Shop Robbed at Gunpoint, Deputies Say

An armed man entered the Lucky Leprechaun Gold and Pawn Shop on Friday afternoon in Bradenton and made off with guns and money, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

Authorities are looking for a man who they say robbed a Bradenton gold and pawn shop Friday afternoon, making off with two handguns and money.

The owner of Lucky Leprechaun Gold and Pawn Shop, 4804 Manatee Ave. W., told deputies a man came into the business around 3 p.m. Friday. They began a conversation, then the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

The man demanded the business owner lay on the floor, took two handguns and money, then fled, deputies said. The owner was unhurt.

A K9 unit tracked the suspect eastbound on the north side of Manatee Avenue but the search ultimately came up empty, the sheriff's office said. It was unclear if he used a getaway vehicle, deputies said.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds and about 35 years old. He wore blue jeans, a green military-type jacket, silver-framed glasses and carried a blue steel handgun, officials said.
