Manatee County Child Suffers Gunshot Wound
A 12-year-old child was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday after suffering a gunshot wound, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

PARRISH, FL —A 12-year-old child was airlifted to John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Wednesday with a gunshot wound, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
"Deputies are investigating a shooting involving a 12-year-old victim in the Harrison Ranch subdivision, Parrish," the sheriff's office reported Wednesday afternoon.

Randy Warren of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office later told Patch that the child suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head that appeared to be self-inflicted.
"We do not suspect anyone else was involved," he said.
