Meet Dr. Doyens and His Manatee Vet Clinic
Manatee Vet clinic made it into the final four of the Patch Reader's Picks. Here's a little more about the clinic and the family who owns it.

Name of owner: David H. Doyens, DVM
In business since: Purchased Manatee Veterinary Clinic in August of 2008, so, almost 4 years. The clinic, however, has been around for almost 50 years.
How long have you lived in the area? My family and I moved to Bradenton at the time of the clinic’s purchase – about 4 years ago.

What do you love about living and working in our town? Where do I begin? The scenic neighborhoods, the incredible beaches and waterfront access, the festive downtown events, proximity to Tampa, our incredible Manatee High Hurricanes and, of course, all the great people that make Bradenton such a great place to own a business and raise a family.
What do you wish everyone who came into your shop knew about you? Between my wife and me and our two children, we own somewhere in the neighborhood of 17 animals…I not only practice veterinary medicine, I live it.

Tell us a quick story about a time you provided awesome customer service: Losing a pet is a very difficult and trying time. For those clients who so choose, I have repeatedly made arrangements to meet clients at my clinic on a Sunday morning to provide a dignified passing to their beloved animal companion. The serenity of a Sunday morning, a quiet, unoccupied clinic and the dedication of a singular medical professional seem to ease a bit of the pain these particular clients are experiencing. I consider such a courtesy for those individuals who have become members of our Manatee Veterinary Clinic family.
