Palmetto Shooting: Person Of Interest Sought
Deputies are asking for help identifying a man they'd like to talk to in regard to a recent shooting and attempted robbery.
PALMETTO, FL — As the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a recent armed robbery attempt that ended with a shooting, they’re asking for help identifying a person of interest.
The case in question unfolded around 11 p.m. May 12 when a man returned to his home in the 900 block of 21st Avenue West in Palmetto. Deputies say the victim was approached by a man who asked for his wallet and then grabbed his arm. The victim was able to break free, but was shot in the arm at some point.
After the shooting, the suspect took off. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after reporting the crime, an email from the sheriff’s office said.

On Tuesday, May 30, deputies released photos of a man who may have information relevant to the case. Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
