Police ID Boy, 12, Killed In Bradenton Shooting
The Bradenton Police Department has released more details about an accidental shooting that claimed the life of a boy on Thursday.

BRADENTON, FL — As the Bradenton Police Department continues to investigate a Thursday afternoon shooting that claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy, authorities have released more information in the case.
Police say Abraham Luna was accidentally shot by his 13-year-old brother. The teenager’s name is not being released at this time.
The incident that led to Abraham’s death took place around 1 p.m. June 22 in the 300 block of 12th Avenue West. When officers arrived at the home, they began lifesaving measures, a Wednesday email from the police department said. Abraham was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital, but died around 2 p.m., authorities said.

The shooting remains under investigation, but is believed to be accidental in nature. No further information is being released at this time. Police have not said who owned the gun, nor have they elaborated on the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Authorities say the shooting serves as a reminder for “owners of firearms to keep them secure and out of the reach of children.”
