Police Investigate Possible Threat At Manatee High School

BRADENTON, FL - Bradenton police say they are investigating a possible threat of violence at Manatee High School.
A Manatee High student found a note Thursday containing information about the threat, police said. School staff seized the note and told the resource officer. The note indicates that on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 12:15 p.m. a shooting will take place on the Manatee High School campus, police said.
Bradenton detectives say they are pursuing leads. "Proactive measures have been set in place as well as increased police presence at Manatee High and all local schools," police said.

“Social media threats have appeared in the last 24 hours mentioning some of our high schools. We want you to know the School District of Manatee County takes all of these threats seriously and they are all reported to local law enforcement agencies. The district works closely with law enforcement to investigate the source of the threats and the credibility of the threats,” according to a statement from the school district.
