Police Track Down Fugitive From Wal-Mart Drug Sting

A man who sped away from an undercover drug operation and was shot at by an officer he tried to run over was arrested Wednesday morning in Arkansas.

Bradenton police have tracked down in the parking lot of the on Cortez Road after he tried to run down two officers as he tried to escape a drug sting, according to a police report.

Thomas W. Spivey, 24, of Bradenton, was arrested in Arkansas Wednesday morning after leading police on a chase there. He has been charged with several felony offenses and is awaiting extradition back to Florida.

Bradenton Police Department’s Narcotics and Casual Clothes Unit and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), received information that Spivey was at a family member’s residence in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Investigators contacted law enforcement officials in Eureka Springs, and coordinated their efforts to apprehend Spivey.

Members of the Green Forest Police Department (Carroll County, Arkansas) made contacted Spivey and he ran, leading the police officers on a chase. The Green Forest Police Department set up a road block to stop Spivey, without further incident. 

Spivey was charged with Fleeing to Elude, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Trespass, Driving with a Suspended License, and Careless Driving. Spivey is currently being held in the Carroll County Jail and will be extradited back to Manatee County to face the following criminal charges:
