62-Year-Old Woman Raped in Home Invasion
The gunman broke into the vcitim's house, and then raped, robbed and struck the woman.
A 62-year-old woman was beaten and sexually assaulted Tuesday night after a gunman broke into her house in the 500 block of 19th Avenue West shortly before midnight, according to a report from the Bradenton Police Department.
According to the police report:
The man initially rang the woman's doorbell and when no one answered he broke into the house. Once inside he attacked the homeowner and robbed the house. The man hit the homeowner in her face and head several times with his gun.

He ran from the house afterward but the victim did not see where he went. The woman was taken to the hospital where she received stitches for the cuts to her face. She was treated and released this morning, said Captain Warren T. Merriman, III.
The suspect is described as 5-foot-11-inches to 6-feet tall, about 160-pounds with a thin build, 20 to 25 years old, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. He was wearing dark shorts and a button-down shirt.
