Manatee County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who took two shots at another driver early Sunday morning.
Leonard Reid Burrows Jr. noticed a white vehicle behind him as he headed south on 43rd Street West from Cortez Road west around 6:40 a.m., according to investigators.
The vehicle, which contained the driver and a passenger, passed Burrows, then got in front of him and continued traveling south.

When both vehicles got to the 5100 block of 43rd Street West the driver of the white vehicle stopped in the middle of the road, according to investigators.
Burrows, 49, had no choice but to stop.

The passenger, holding a silver semiautomatic handgun, got out of the rear, right side of the vehicle. Without a word, he pointed the handgun at Burrows' vehicle and fired two rounds, hitting the right headlight and hood, according to officials.
Burrows, who was not injured, was able to put his car in reverse and flee the scene. A shell casing was found in the road at the crime scene, according to investigators.
