MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A motorcyclist died early Saturday morning after losing control while speeding while heading south on Interstate 75, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. The 25-year-old Riverview man lost control while traveling on the off-ramp at the U.S. 301 exit and hit a guardrail in the right shoulder. He was thrown from his motorcycle in the crash and declared dead at the scene by Manatee County EMS, FHP said. The FHP Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
