Look for Stewart's Patriotic Float in the De Soto Parade on April 28.
Students at Stewart Elementary won $1,000 with their float celebrating community heros at the Children's Parade last week.
The float features a large flag and photos of community heros serving overseas in the military. The photos are afixed to a pickett fence and tied with yellow ribbons, an oak tree with a tire swing and a nice green lawn.
The float symbolizes all of those families and community members who are waiting for the troops to come home safely from combat. It also honors those who are serving in the ,ilitary from this community.
