Teen Sought on Domestic Battery Charges

Authorities say a 17-year-old boy assaulted a woman inside her vehicle, threatened her with a gun and took her phone Sunday night in Bradenton.

Authorities are seeking a 17-year-old who they say assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute and threatened her with a gun Sunday night in Bradenton.

According to a report from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the male suspect and an 18-year-old woman were driving in the woman's vehicle in the 3700 block of First Street East around 6:30 p.m. when the alleged battery was committed.

The woman pulled into a parking lot, apparently to get out of the vehicle, deputies said. While she was getting out, the suspect threatened her with a firearm, according to the report.

The teen then fled the vehicle on foot, taking the victim's phone with her.

The woman drove to a residence and reported the incident about a half hour later.

The suspect has not yet been located, authorities said. He faces charges of aggravated domestic assault, armed robbery, domestic battery and tampering with a witness or victim (depriving of communication to contact 911), according to the report.
