Woman Killed in Crash on Cortez Road
The 91-year-old passenger died today after the car she was in was struck on the passenger side.

A 91-year-old woman was killed today when the car she was riding in turned in front of oncoming traffic and was hit on the passenger side.
Dorothy D. Schroeder, of Bradenton, was taken to Blake Medical Center where she died shortly after 4 p.m. today, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Schroeder and her husband Dennis J. Schroeder, who was driving the couple's Mercury Marquis, were going to Home Depot off of Cortez Road Wednesday at about 2 p.m. Schroeder made a left hand turn to go into the store's parking lot in front of Kathleen Kastner, 46, who was driving a Honda Pilot.

Kastner's vehicle hit the right side of the Marquis, spinning it clockwise. Both of the Schroeders were taken to Blake Medical Center. Dennis Schroeder is listed in serious condition, according to the FHP report.
