BRADENTON, FL — A woman shot and killed herself at a Bradenton apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers responded to an apartment building in the 4400 block of Ironwood Circle just before 3 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that she threatened to harm herself and had access to guns, according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.

When they arrived at the scene, they confirmed that the woman, who hasn’t been named, was armed and secured the building while trying to secure a rapport with her.

Though she agreed to leave her apartment, multiple shots were fired inside moments later, police said. The woman was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No officers were injured during the incident.
