The 9- and 10-year-old Little League all star teams from Clearwater and Dunedin faced off at Fisher Field last Thursday in their first District 12 appearance of the tournament.
Clearwater struggled against Dunedin's strong pitching, squeezing out only three hits in 18 at bats. Dunedin came alive on a two-run double that put Clearwater behind in the second inning, tallying 15 hits on the evening. Clearwater was defeated 12-2 in four innings.
District 12 Little League teams from Clearwater, Dunedin, West Pasco, Largo, Countryside, East Lake, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs and West Pinellas began tournament play on June 22. Tournament play continues through Thursday (June 30) for all age groups, with a championship game scheduled for July 7.
