Five Things to Know Today

The Patch RV is coming, City Council meets and more is going on in Clearwater Thursday (May 17).

 

1. Don't forget your umbrella. Expect partly sunny day with a high near 85 and a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Dr. and city leaders will discuss and first vote on an ordinance to create a domestic partnership registry similar to one recently passed by Gulfport leaders, at the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. at , 112 S Osceola Ave.

3. Working on that bikini bod? Brent Agin, M.D., of Choice Wellness talks about how metabolism works, how to improve it, and what role diet plays in metabolism at 6:30 p.m. at Nature's Food Patch, 1225 Cleveland St.

5. The city is looking for groups to be part of the Adopt a Park program. Businesses, neighborhood associations, troops, school groups and service organizations with at least six members can participate. Groups must complete two service projects in their park or another city park throughout the contract year. In exchange for the work, groups are recognized with a sign bearing their name in the adopted park.
