Five Things to Know Today
Make Clearwater the "ultimate fishing town," be kind to animals and more is going on in Clearwater Wednesday (May 2).

The street market, which features fresh food, crafters and live entertainment on the 500 block of Cleveland Street is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
2. The civic-minded have a full slate with an advisory board double header. The Airpark Advisory Board featuring new members meets at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave. Followed by the Downtown Development Board meets at 4 p.m.

3. Clearwater’s Public Utilities department recently got a national award for “Outstanding Achievement in Innovation,” for replacing a chemical used in the wastewater treatment process with an organic processing byproduct used to make flavored coffee syrup by the Alliance for Innovation: Transforming Local Government.
4. The Be Kind to Animals Week (May 6-12) poster contest theme is "What does my pet need to be healthy and happy?" 5. The Beach marina is home to the largest fleet in Florida, including plenty of comercial fisherman and charter captains. Now make Clearwater the "Ultimate Fishing Town" as declared by The World Fishing Network. The winner gets the designation and $25,000. Vote up to four times a day at WFNFishingTown.com.
