Five Things to Know Today

City Council meets, meet an author, catch a classic movie in an historic theater and more is going on in Clearwater Thursday (May 3).

 

1. It's another Chamber kind of day. Expect a mostly sunny day with a high near 88, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Got something to say? Come out for the public comment portion of the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. at , 112 S Osceola Ave. Also send in concerns, problems and comments through Clearwater's Task Request and Communications System.

3. Author  will talk about "The Curse of Cursive Writing" at 5:30 p.m. at the Countryside Library, 2741 State Road 580. The story is about a stylist who reveals hair raising stories written from recollections and observations from watching and listening to people ages two to 100.

4. Looking for a Thursday night date idea? Catch a screening of the classic romantic movie "The Philadelphia Story" starring Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn and James Stewart at 7 p.m. at the , 405 Cleveland St. Make sure to grab something to eat before or after the flick.

5. Make sure not to leave valuables in plain sight. Several recent vehicle burglaries have occurred in the parking lots of Clearwater dog parks, according to a Clearwater Police Faceboook post. In the instances, a window was smashed on each vehicle and purses were stolen from the floorboards.
