3. Clearwater Police collected 381 pounds of prescription medicine during the 7th Operation Medicine cabinet event Saturday at Countryside Mall. Overall, law enforcement agencies collected more than 758 pounds of pills throughout the county.

4. Surprisingly Leonard Johnson, predicted to go in the third round of the NFL draft, still was waiting for a team to take him when it ended. He is one of the top ten best available prospects, according to nfl.com. Supposedly the Tampa Bay Bucs have agreed to terms with Johnson, according to nfl.com.

5. Wonder what life around here was like nearly 100 years ago? Terry Fortner, who's grandmother was Myrtle Scharrer Betz, author of "Yesteryear I Lived in Paradise: The Story of Caladesi Island," will at 2 p.m. at the Long Center, 1501 N Belcher Road.
