Roommate Squabble Leads to Stabbing

A verbal argument escalated to a physical confrontation that ended with one man stabbed and the other under arrest.

An escalating argument between roommates lead one to stab the other Sunday in the Betty Lane Heights subdivision.

Lewis Ingram and Donald Barnes had argued throughout the day until the verbal attacks turned into a physical confrontation, according to Clearwater Police.

During the altercation, Ingram, 58, stabbed Barnes, 53, in the neck. Barnes also sustained defensive wounds on his hands, investigators said.

Barnes was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

Ingram was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is in jail on $10,000 bond, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
